Defence Standard Equipment Wires

Defence Standard wires (Def Stan) are used as internal wiring within electronic equipment in applications where a high density of wires is required. Originally used by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) they are now widely utilised across a number of industries due to their high working voltage and broad range of sizes.

Stocked as Type 2 (1000V) and Type 3 (1500V) generally to Def Stan 61-12 Part 6 and BS4808, Type 1 (750V) can also be supplied on request.

Standard colours available are Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Grey, Orange, Pink, Red, Violet, White, Yellow and Green/Yellow.
